Overall, this was a fantastic experience for me and I’m so sad that the show had to come to a close.
I wasn’t even considering participating in theatre during my college career. I participated in eleven shows while I was in high school.
The audience and the performers are literally in the same room sharing the same experience in real time.
Being in love is a once in a lifetime opportunity (More if you’re lucky). Portraying that on stage is not easy, even if you’ve been in love before.
The highest echelon of acting riddles: How to be truthful? How did I do it? I’ll give you a hint. I had help, lots and lots of help.
Theatre is an art, art is a celebration of humanity, so does a pragmatic and cold approach to acting lessen the impact?
Can I call myself an actor?
How can an actor truthfully display a character? I know I have trouble getting out of my of own head. This is how I worked to fix that issue as Lysander.
I’m sad that rehearsals are finally coming to a close, but I’m very excited to begin performing this play for an audience now!!
I don’t know what exactly I was expecting when I got into college level theatre but let me tell you, I am pleasantly surprised.
You don’t really think about body image and how comfortable you are in your own skin when you’re on stage in a floor length black puritan dress, you’re mostly thinking “Wow this is really hot, black wool shouldn’t be a thing.”
