The week we have all been waiting for is finally here. The show Northanger Abbey is open and all our hard work is done. The props are made, the scenes are painted and the stage is set. I am extremely excited to see all of the work the shop employees and myself have put into the show come to life. As we get closer and closer to the week of the show, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride. To know that I helped create what the audience will see on the stage is a wonderful feeling. However, there is still much to be done and that means that we will all have to work a little harder if we hope to finish in time.
This week in my theatre practicum I learned a few new skills. It’s amazing how much you can learn working in the theatre. I learned how to create trim and how to set up a hanging flat. No matter how many hours I put into working in the theatre I am always surprised by how amazing Theatre Westminster is at creating a show.
I never fail to have an enjoyable time in the theatre. This week is the second week of work in the shop here at Theatre Westminster and I still love what I do. I get the opportunity to learn new things and to experience the many jobs and tools.
This week in my theatre practicum I began working construction on the upcoming show, Northanger Abbey. The week was a lot of fun and taught me important skills about working behind the scenes in a theatre.
